Striving for the Future of Families: A Summer Celebration of Hope

A summer fundraiser at The Festival Center with comfort food, community tributes, and the signature POH piñata, supporting 50 Black and Brown families in DC on their journey toward economic and racial justice. An online auction ran alongside the in-person celebration for those who couldn't attend.

Vision Forward Fundraiser

Hosted at the Adams Morgan staple The Diner, this fundraiser honored Platform of Hope’s past, celebrated its present, and toasted its future with food, an open bar, tributes, and a POH piñata, alongside a week-long online auction. The event's goal was to raise $35,000, with all proceeds supporting POH's work with families.

Milestones Coffee Chat: 2023 Annual Report Release + Strategic Planning Check-In

Guests discussed the learnings from POH's 2023 Annual Report and updates on the strategic plan. 2023 was a milestone year, meeting the initial vision to serve 100 families over five years while completing a five-year plan to guide the future. POH's first in-person public event in over two years, hosted at Potter's House. The 2021 Annual Report featured data, stories, and learnings from the third program year, uplifting the continuing challenges from the pandemic alongside the resiliency and progress of families. Guests were then invited to a tour of the Platform of Hope offices and a reception.
POH Paint Night

A virtual paint night led by DC artist Heidi of Desert 2 District, where families learned to paint loose florals and created their own family watercolor wreaths while connecting over POH's work in 2021. All participants received a paint set in the mail.
2021 Online Community Auction

POH's second annual online auction raised over $15,000, featuring more than 50 items donated by members of the community and helping connect supporters while raising funds for ongoing work.
